Prayer for Healing for a Friend

Heavenly Father, I bring a friend to You today. You know their name, and You know exactly what they are carrying. I cannot heal them myself, so I place them in Your hands, where they have always been safest.

Lord, touch their body with Your healing. Ease the pain that wears them down. Steady them through the tests and the waiting and the long hours when the house is quiet and the worry grows loud.

Comfort their heart, too. Sickness does not only tire the body; it can make a person feel small and forgotten. Remind my friend that they are still deeply loved, still fully known, and still held by You in every hour of this.

Give me the grace to be a good friend through it. Keep me from empty words or from disappearing because I do not know what to say. Show me the small, practical things I can do — a meal, a message, a visit, a quiet presence — and let my care be a sign of Yours.

Bless the hands that treat them, the family that sits with them, and the friends who pray as I am praying now. Give wisdom to every doctor and nurse, and patience to everyone who loves them.

Father, if healing comes slowly, hold them through the waiting. If it comes suddenly, let us praise You together for it. Whatever these days bring, do not let my friend feel alone in them.

Lord Jesus, Divine Physician, lay Your hand upon my friend and make them whole. Amen.
