Catholic Prayer for Anxiety

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Lord Jesus, I come to You with a heart that will not settle. The worries circle back no matter how many times I try to set them down, and tonight I need more than my own effort to find peace. I need You.

You told Your disciples not to be anxious, not because life would be free of trouble, but because You would be with them through it. I hold onto that promise now. Take this anxious spirit and exchange it for Your peace, the peace the world cannot give and cannot take away.

Mother Mary, you knew what it was to wait in uncertainty, to hold questions in your heart without every answer in hand. Intercede for me. Help me trust the way you trusted, even when the road ahead was unclear.

I place before You, Lord, the specific fears pressing on me right now: the ones I can name and the ones I can only feel as a weight in my chest. I don't ask to understand everything. I ask for the grace to keep walking in faith, one step at a time, leaning on You rather than on my own understanding.

Saints who knew affliction and found rest in God, pray for me. Ask the Lord to steady my mind, quiet my racing thoughts, and remind me that I am held in His care even in this moment of unease.

Sacred Heart of Jesus, I trust in You. Calm what is restless in me, and let Your peace stand guard over my heart and mind. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
