Prayer for Peace
A prayer asking God to quiet a restless heart and fill it with a peace the world cannot give.
Lord, so much around me feels unsettled. My thoughts pull in different directions, and my heart doesn't rest easy. Before I ask You for anything else, I ask You for peace.
Not the peace that comes from everything going right, but the peace that holds steady even when it doesn't. Quiet the noise inside me. Slow down the thoughts that keep circling back to what I cannot control.
Where there is conflict, in my own heart or between me and someone I love, soften what has grown hard. Help me let go of the need to win every argument and carry every grudge. Let me be an instrument of peace rather than another voice adding to the discord.
I bring You the parts of my life that feel like a battlefield: the tension at home, the worry over tomorrow, the wounds I haven't let heal. Meet me there. You are not far from any of it.
Lord, still the waters in me. Let Your peace stand guard over my heart and my mind, not because the storm has passed, but because You are in the boat with me.
